We built Mighty Ape because
we're bananas about online shopping.
Our mission is to create the best online store for New Zealanders. :)
We work hard to provide you with great value and a world-class online shopping service.
This means sourcing stock locally and ensuring orders are
shipped quickly.
It means competitive prices and it means being available should anything go wrong...
We also believe in keeping it real. You won't see us burning money on fancy TV ads,
unnecessary meetings, fancy offices or even fancy haircuts. Our focus is on serving
you, our customer. We understand that our success depends on our ability to keep
you happy!

What makes Mighty Ape mighty?
We hold stock. Tonnes of stock. When you order an item that's in-stock with us,
we'll dispatch it to you on the
same day you place your order (3pm
cut off time). What's more, our warehouse is located on Auckland's North Shore where
most of the local book and game suppliers are based.
We know you don't like to wait for your stuff...and neither do we!
Where did the name Mighty Ape come from?
The name is paying homage to the mighty ape himself - Kong.
Our company
We're proud to be
100% New Zealand-owned (and we plan to stay that
way) and we're fiercely independent. The business was founded by
Simon Barton who also co-founded
Zillion,
happysheep and
Gameplanet.
Our team is made up of 30+
very dedicated monkeys including: Simon,
Vicki, Rose, Gaz, Matt P, Dylan, Shane, Pete, Scott, Tsai, Mike, Moana, Kristin,
Ruth, Chris H, Rhia, Chris S, Richard, Hayley, Alastair, Annemarie, Anthony, Matt
H, Justin, Mary Anne, Greg, Leona, Toni, Jaimee, Justin, Samantha and Che.
Mighty Ape is run from a warehouse in Albany, on Auckland's North Shore. We're deliberately
based close to most of New Zealand game and book distributors. This allows us to
pick-up stock from a swag of local distributors and get it
out the door fast.
